Toyota Launches All-New Prius At Rs 38.96 Lakh

The fourth generation Toyota Prius has been launched in India at Rs 38.96 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. It gets a revised design, new underpinnings. It has been brought in via the CBU route and is available in top-of-the-line Z8 variant.
New Prius is powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine that produces 98PS of power and 142Nm of torque. The electric motor, on the other hand, is capable of producing 72PS/163Nm. Working together, the total power output goes up to 122PS. Prius comes with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and power is sent to the front wheels only. Prius gives Fuel Economy of 26.27Kmpl.
On the outside, some of the standout features include LED powered fog lamps and headlamps, daytime running lights, 15-inch alloy wheels and smart entry tech for all doors. Inside the Prius it includes  leather seats, chrome door handles, eco-driving indicator, touchscreen infotainment display with 10-speaker JBL sound system, pitch and bounce control, follow-me-home headlamps, seat heater for the front two seats, heads-up display, wireless smartphone charger, dual automatic AC and seven airbags.

2017 Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster launched in India

Porsche has launched the new 718 Cayman and Boxster in the country, which are priced at Rs 81.63 lakh and Rs 85.53 lakh ex-showroom Delhi respectively. The third generation 718 Boxster gets more striking and sporty appearance, while the new 718 Cayman complements the Roadster. The newly launched cars claim to offer better performance figure as compared to the older generation models.
The new 718 Cayman and the Boxster are powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which replaces the older 3.4-litre, six cylinder. Cayman claims to generate an additional 90Nm of torque over its predecessor. It comes with seven-speed automatic PDK gearbox, the 2.0-litre engines produce 298 bhp and 380Nm of torque which allows the vehicle to do 0-100kmph in just about 5.1 seconds. The top speed for both cars has been at 275kmph. To deliver best handling, the new models are offered with retuned chassis, a wider front and side air-intake with side skirts for aerodynamics. Both the 718 Boxster and the 718 Cayman get a redesigned front with larger cooling intakes, and the Bi-Xenon headlights with the LED DRLs get a design update too.
Inside, the upper part of the dashboard and the air vents are new, and the 718 Boxster and Cayman get a 918 Spyder design sport steering wheel. PCM (Porsche Communication Management) now forms a part of the standard equipment. 718 Boxster is offered with a Vehicle Tracking System Plus (PVTS+) as standard.  The Porsche 718 Boxster competes with the Mercedes-AMG SLC43, priced at Rs 77.50 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The 718 Cayman doesn't have any real competition for now as there is no other 2-seater sports coupe available in the price range.

Porsche launches Cayenne S Platinum Edition at Rs 1.27 Crore

Porsche has launched the Cayenne S Platinum Edition in India. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 1.27 crore and the diesel version is priced at Rs 1.31 crore (Ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The Platinum Edition offer more features and equipment in comparison to a standard Cayenne S.
The vehicle now gets new bi-xenon headlamps with Porsche Dynamic Light System and body coloured wheel arches. Platinum edition also comes with 21-inch wheels instead of 18-inch wheels that are offered on the standard variant. The Platinum Edition Cayenne S is available in shades of Jet Black, Mahogany, Rhodium Silver and Carrara White.
Inside the Cayenne S Platinum Edition features leather and Alcantara upholstery, eight-way adjustable sports seats, Platinum Edition badging on the sill guard and seat headrests with Porsche logo. The vehicle also gets heated front seats and touchscreen navigation system with Bose audio system. Moreover, it also gets dynamic cornering system and front and rear parking sensors.
There are no changes under the hood. The Cayenne S Platinum Edition’s petrol variant is powered by same 3.6-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that comes mated to an 8-speed tiptronic S transmission unit to put out 414bhp of power and 550Nm of torque. The diesel version on the other hand is powered by a 4.2-litre twin-turbo 8-cylinder engine comes mated to an 8-speed tiptronic S transmission unit which puts out 380bhp of power 850Nm of torque.

Volkswagen Ameo Diesel launched

 Volkswagen has finally launched diesel variant of their entry level sedan Ameo at a starting price of 6.33 lakh for the base Trendline variant, the prices go as high as 9.32 lakh for the top-of-the-line Highline automatic variant (all ex-showroom, Delhi). The diesel trim comes in three primary variants - Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline along with automatic options.
The new Ameo comes powered by an updated version of the 1.5-litre TDI, 4-cylinder diesel engine that gives 108bhp and develops a peak torque of 250Nm. As mentioned earlier, the transmission option includes a 5-speed manual gearbox along with Volkswagen's tried and tested 7-speed DSG unit.
The Ameo diesel offers the same features that you get in the petrol variant like - cruise control, rain sensing wipers, all-four anti-pinch power windows, cooled glovebox and more. The car comes with a touchscreen multimedia music system with Mirror link, I-pod connectivity, phonebook/SMS viewer, ESP and Hill hold control, Volkswagen's 'Climatronic' - an automatic AC with dust & pollen filter and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Diesel comes equipped with standard ABS and driver and passenger airbag.

Mahindra launches Intelli-Hybrid Scorpio in Delhi

Mahindra Scorpio, the popular SUV from auto major will now get the company's Intelli-Hybrid technology with the 1.99-litre m-Hawk engine. This particular model will only be sold in Delhi and NCR, and has been launched at a starting price of ₹ 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, this Scorpio being a mild hybrid, customers will also enjoy a 5 per cent concessions on VAT (value added tax), which translates into a benefit of ₹ 60,000 to ₹ 90,000, depending on the variant.
Mahindra says that the Intelli-Hybrid can reduce fuel consumption by up to 7%. This by assisting the engine with electric power during acceleration automatically switches the engine off within 3 seconds of the vehicle being stationary (start-stop) and reusing brake energy, which would otherwise be wasted, to charge the battery. Coming to the engine itself, the Scorpio's 1.99-litre mHawk motor generate the same 120bhp and develops a peak torque of 280Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
The Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid from Mahindra is offered in  the variants - S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (manual transmission) and S10- 4WD (manual transmission). The SUV does not get any design or feature upgrades and it continues to be offered with a six-inch touch screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, fully automatic temperature control, luxurious Blue-Grey interiors, 17-inch alloy wheels and static bending projector headlamps with eyebrow-styled LED parking lights.

Maruti Suzuki Launched MS Dhoni Special Edition Alto

Maruti Suzuki has launched a special edition of the Alto. As part of an association with the makers of the upcoming movie “MS Dhoni – The Untold Story”, the Alto (Lxi) and Alto K10 (Lxi and Vxi) will be available with custom additions to the exterior and interior. The special edition models will be on sale from the first week of October.
The add-ons will cost you Rs 16,777 with the Alto 800 and Rs 12,777 for the Alto K10. That money buys you MS Dhoni signature decals and body graphics, seat covers with number #7 stitching, a single-DIN radio with MP3, AUX, USB connectivity and speakers along with reverse parking sensors and a bar graph display. You also get a steering wheel cover, ambient lighting, a spoiler, a door sill guard and some promotional merchandise. The special editions are offered with a choice of two interior colour combinations - black with silver and red with blue
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is running a promotional campaign on social media named #DrivenbyPassion, through which, Facebook and Twitter users can participate and win a chance to meet MS Dhoni and the cast of the movie. The limited edition Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Alto K10 will continue to come powered by the 47.3bhp 796cc engine and the 67bhp 998cc K10B engine, respectively. Currently, the Alto 800 is priced between Rs 2.49 lakh and Rs 3.76 lakh, while the Alto K10 costs between Rs 3.29 lakh and Rs 4.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross launched in India

Fiat has launched the Avventura Urban Cross in the Indian market for a launch price of Rs 6.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).  It is available across three variants - two diesel and a petrol. Bookings began a week ago and deliveries for the car will take place in October. Based on the Avventura hatchover, this new car gets a chrome-laced grille and LED DRLs. The side profile too is similar to that of the Punto Evo and Avventura save for the design of the alloy wheels which are 16-inch units and with Abarth design. The rear loses out on the extra section that held the spare wheel on the Avventura.


The dual tone interiors of the Urban Cross gets standard features across the line-up such as central locking, dual tone dashboard with a soft touch front panel, rear AC vents, front power windows, five-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity as well as navigation. For a limited period, the Urban Cross will be offered with a Burgundy interior. This Designer Interior package will be available as an option only in the Dynamic diesel and the Emotion petrol powered by Abarth variants.

Talking about power, the Fiat Urban Cross uses the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine in Active and Dynamic variants and is tuned to produce 92bhp. The top-of-the-line Emotion trim (powered by Abarth) uses the 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine tuned for 138bhp. Both engines come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Both vehicles will only be offered with a five-speed manual.
