Maruti Suzuki Baleno launched

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Baleno in India with price starting at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the entry-level Sigma variant, going all the way till Rs 8.11 lakh for the top-spec Alpha diesel trim.
Based on a completely new lightweight platform, the new Baleno is being positioned above the popular Swift. The new Baleno is Maruti Suzuki’s ticket to the premium B+ segment which is filled with cars like the Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20 and the Volkswagen Polo. 
Exterior Include new V-shaped grille and sweptback headlights. The side profile is characterised by a long and low roofline that ends at a rather steeply raked C-pillar. Overall, the car appears to have a flat stance, albeit with muscular wheel arches and a strong baseline. Cabin include features a refreshing new design compared to Maruti’s existing range of cars. Finished in all-black with silver accents, the interior features climate control, steering mounted audio controls, touch screen infotainment system, multicolour instrument cluster and lots more on top-spec variants. The Baleno is equipped with Apple Carplay that mirrors the phone on the car screen, making it much easier to use. The other highlight is the fact that this is the only car in the segment to get ABS-EBD and front dual airbags as standard across all trims.
Under the hood it comes with 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine which gives power of 83bhp and 115Nm as well as a Fiat-derived 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine gives power of 75bhp and 200Nm. What’s new here is the CVT gearbox, seen for the first time in a Maruti. The automatic version is available with the petrol-powered Delta variant.

Facelift of Ertiga launched

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ertiga facelift in India at an introductory price of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelifted Ertiga gets cosmetic as well as mechanical updates in the form of an automatic gearbox for the petrol models and SHVS (smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki) technology for the diesel models.
The external changes include a new chrome grille, revised bumpers, a chrome strip above the rear number plate and chrome garnish on the fog lamps. Also included in the update package is a  revised design for the alloy wheels as well as specific badging for the AT and SHVS technology. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available  in six shades - silky silver, superior white, serene blue, granite grey, radient  beige and pearl blue blaze of which the last two are new shades.
The interior changes we can see the addition of a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and MirrorLink system, electrically foldable ORVMs, button start with smart key, 12V socket in the second row, revised fabrics and finally 50:50 split third row seats. On the safety front, driver’s side airbag and seat belt reminder are standard across all variants. Higher spec models also get passenger airbag, ABS with EBD and seat belt with pre-tensioner. It is optional for the base models. Another two optional extras are rear parking sensors with camera.
Under the hood, the Ertiga facelift gets two options. The petrol engine is a 1.4-litre unit that gives 94bhp and 130Nm. It can be had with a five-speed manual or a four-speed AT which is new for the Indian market and available in a single variant. The diesel on the other hand is the 1.3-litre Multijet unit that gives 90bhp and 200Nm of torque and has been mated with the five-speed manual. It has been mated to the SHVS technology and is the second vehicle after the Ciaz to get this update in Maruti’s Indian stable.
The introduction of the SHVS technology has marginally increased the prices of all existing diesel variants except for VDi and ZDi variant which are now Rs 13,000 and 3,000 cheaper than the outgoing model. However, there now two new variants VDi (o) and ZDi (+). The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga competes with the Honda Mobilio and the Chevrolet Enjoy.

Ford Launches Updated EcoSport

Ford has unveiled the updated EcoSport at Rs 6.79 lacs for the base petrol variant (ex-showroom Delhi). This updated compact SUV gets more powerful diesel engine that is being used in the two latest cars from Ford ; Figo Aspire and Figo. Apart from under the hood, there are some additions on the inside as well.
Under the hood, is the updated 1.5 litre TDCi diesel that gives 100 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque, strangely not 215 Nm like in Aspire. Other than this, there is the 1.0 litre 125 PS ecoboost and the 112 PS 1.5-litre TiVCT petrol.
More importantly, Ford has brought in a cheaper Ecoboost option under the Trend+ variant making this advanced motor more desireable. Also, the company have introduced a new Trend+ variant that gets a few more addition compared to the Trend one.
On the exterior there is the new color Golden Bronze that we have seen in the now phased out Fiesta and DRLs are now offered an option unlike before when they were added as an accessory.

BMW launches M6 Gran Coupe in India

BMW launched their M6 Gran Coupe in India for 1.71 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). The car was launched at BMW’s first M Studio, Infinity Cars in Mumbai. This is the first BMW showroom in the country which is dedicated to retail the 'M' or the performance versions of their cars. Next in line of the BMW’s M versions are the X5 M and X6 M which are scheduled to be launched later this month. The M6 will be a CBU unit and will be sold out of the M studios in the country.
Under the hood it has 4.4-litre, M twin-turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine which gives 552bhp and 680Nm of torque and delivers this power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This enables the launch control equipped bimmer to achieve 100 kmph from zero in just 4.2 seconds and with top speed of 250 Kmph. All this with a fuel economy of 10.1 Km/l and 232 g/km of CO2 emissions. The car also has two M Drive buttons on the steering wheel for sport and comfort configurations.
On the exterior, the car has a signature double-bar kidney grille with M badging, new adaptive LED headlights, larger air intake in the front, integrated diffuser insert in the rear apron, carbon fiber roof, quad exhaust pipes, 20-inch alloy-wheels, minor changes in the tail light cluster and the M badge on the boot lid.Even on the inside, the car does not let you forget that you are inside a M series monster with the signature 'M badge' on the instrument cluster, centre console and door sill. Also, the car is fitted with M sports seats to give you the right race car feel. The car will be available in nine metallic colours namely; Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Silverstone, Space Grey, Jatoba, San Marino Blue, Sakhir Orange, Singapore Grey and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect.
