Ford has officially revealed Figo Aspire compact sedan during the inauguration of their new production facility in Sanand Gujarat. Aspire is likely to be launched by mid of this year. It is featured with Ford’s Kinetic 2.0 design philosophy.
On the interior side it comes with Ford’s SYNC infotainment system with a 3.5-inch display screenscreen. The voice guided SYNC offers, Bluetooth phone integration and lets you control your apps, music and phone, hands-free. The system is equipped with the - AppLink. With the help of SYNC, AppLink lets you use your selected smartphone apps through voice commands, eg. ESPNcricinfo app. Moreover, for lower trims Figo Aspire features a unique My-Ford-Dock , it helps in docking your mobile on the dashboard for charging, music streaming and navigation.
Under the hood Aspire will get both new petrol and diesel engine. Ford reveals new engines are new 1.2-liter Ti-VCT petrol and 1.5-liter TDCI diesel. Petrol engine which is 1.2-liter TiVCT 4-cylinder motor is expected to produce in-between 85-90 bhp while torque will be under 120 Nm where as diesel engine which is 1.5-liter TDCI produce 75 bhp and torque of 195 Nm. Diesel engine is slightly de-tuned version of Fiesta/EcoSport’s 1.5-liter DV5 turbo diesel.
As in the terms of safety Aspire comes with 6 airbags including segment first side and curtain airbags. Moreover, with the SYNC equipped version, it also features Ford’s Emergency Assistance, the system calls the emergency services (108) in case of any casualty (if airbags deployed) using your connected phone automatically. Figo Aspire competes with Swift Dzire, Xcent, Amaze and Zest.
